Business Angel. Qualla Kids. 2026
Carles Porta, CEO & Founder of Qualla Kids
Qualla is the operating system that connects the day-to-day operations of schools, allowing teachers to focus on what truly matters: education. Through a single platform, it manages school transport, canteens, student authorizations, communications, payments, extracurricular activities and other daily processes, seamlessly connecting families, teachers and school administrators while ensuring information flows in a simple, secure and fully traceable way.
Why did I invest?
Carles first reached out to me on LinkedIn in June 2021 to introduce Qualla. At the time, I found it to be an interesting solution, although one that seemed focused on solving a very specific problem. We then lost touch until South Summit 2026, where we finally had the opportunity to meet in person.
During that meeting, I discovered a very different company. Qualla was no longer building an application to solve isolated operational challenges within schools; it was building a platform with the potential to become the operating system that orchestrates every aspect of a school’s daily operations.
Meeting Xavier Fàbrega, who had recently joined the company, was another important factor. His track record in scaling technology businesses gave me confidence that Qualla had not only an ambitious vision, but also the leadership team capable of executing it.
I enjoy investing in companies that start by solving a specific problem and evolve into essential infrastructure that is difficult to replace. I believe Qualla is following exactly that path and has the opportunity to become a key player in the digital transformation of the education sector.
